Miguel Peters is a circular business leader, certified accountant, cleantech advocate, and impact investment champion with a deep passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship. With over seven years of experience, Miguel has emerged as a thought leader and expert in transitioning to a more circular and regenerative economy. Throughout his career, Miguel has actively contributed to the development and implementation of circular economy strategies across various industries. He has hosted and co-hosted climate, impact investment, and circular economy programs and projects in more than ten African countries, creating positive grassroots impacts in multiple communities.

Miguel’s expertise lies in devising innovative solutions that enable businesses and organizations to transition from a linear “take-make-dispose” model to a circular framework, where resources are efficiently utilized, waste is minimized, and value is retained throughout the entire lifecycle of products and materials. As a leader in the circular economy and cleantech sectors, Miguel has successfully collaborated with multinational corporations, governmental bodies, and organizations to develop and implement sustainable strategies.

He has led cross-functional teams in conducting thorough assessments and research, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing circular practices that enhance resource efficiency, reduce environmental impact, drive impact investments, and propel socio-economic growth.

He is a sought-after speaker and has delivered impactful presentations and workshops on climate change, cleantech innovations, and the circular economy at local and international conferences, institutions, and industry events.

He also serves on the advisory boards of several sustainability-focused organizations and volunteers his time to mentor and support aspiring professionals in the field.

Additionally, Miguel is a passionate researcher in space science technology and the cosmos. He has recently pushed for the commencement of Xero Innovations, a circular technology division of ACBA focused on space science, weather & climate, drones & robotics, and telecom & satellite technology. He believes that satellite technology and space science research, focused on gathering scientific knowledge about the climate systems of Mars, Venus, and Saturn’s largest moon, Titan, can contribute to understanding and solving the climate crisis on Earth.

Miguel holds various positions, international recognitions, and certifications. These include being a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) CIT scientist, a member of the US OpenSpace project, a Common Purpose Ireland fellow, a member of Leaders for Climate Action Europe, a member of the Greentech Alliance based in Germany, a certified Climate Reality Leader trained by former United States President Al Gore, and a certified Young African Leader (YALI). He was awarded the Entrepreneurship Award in Africa by the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) in collaboration with the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), the Ghana Institute of Management & Public Administration (GIMPA), and the Mastercard Foundation.
