Miguel Peters is a green economy and cleantech advocate, certified accountant, impact investment consultant, space science student/research contributor and a circular business leader with seven years of professional experience in non-profit, for-profit business and ESG sectors. He is the Chief Executive Officer of the African Circular Business Alliance (ACBA), oversees the company’s local and international operations, and supervises its subsidiary companies. His duties include but are not limited to delegating and directing agendas, leading the development of the company’s short and long-term strategy, managing the company’s organizational structure, expanding the activities of the company into more countries and regions, and communicating with stakeholders, investors and government entities.
Miguel has spent most of his professional career advocating for a circular economy, clean climate and green impact investment in Africa and the world. He has hosted/co-hosted climate & circular economy projects in more than five African countries creating positive grassroots impacts in multiple communities across Africa. He is also a passionate Space Science and Cosmos research student/contributor and believes that satellite technology and space science research with a focal point on the scientific knowledge-gathering of the climate system of Mars, Venus and Saturn’s largest moon Titan can contribute toward the knowledge and solution mechanism to the climate crisis on planet Earth. He is a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) citizen scientist and a member of the US OpenSpace project.
Miguel is also a big fan of voluntary acts and volunteers his time in various local and international leadership, business, space science and climate platforms, most notably the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), Climate Reality Leadership Hub, and NASA CS platform. He has been privileged to work with some of the most incredible people, particularly industry experts and companies in the world who are passionate about building a unique sustainability movement for our climate and planet. He is a Common Purpose Ireland fellow, a member of the Leaders for Climate Action Europe, a member of the Greentech Alliance based in Germany, a certified Climate Reality Leader trained by former US President Al Gore, and also a certified Young African Leader (YALI) awarded the Entrepreneurship Award in Africa by the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) in collaboration with the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), the Ghana Institute of Management & Public Administration (GIMPA) and Mastercard Foundation.
