We are looking for Country Representatives to join our team for our Circular Business Project.

Countries: South Africa, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, Morocco, Egypt, Cameroon, Botswana, and Rwanda.

About the African Circular Business Alliance
African Circular Business Alliance (ACBA) is a fact-based organization that uses intensive research to galvanize the African business community on multiple sectors with the purpose of providing technical assistance, circular business growth strategies, decarbonization pathways and access to funding for eco-friendly African businesses, to build a sustainable, profitable and scalable circular market in Africa with long-term impact and a Race-To-Zero commitment. Through its directors, ACBA applies its respected thought leadership and effective advocacy to generate constructive long-term solutions and take shared action to drive business action on sustainability in the coming decade and beyond.

About the Circular Business Project
The Circular Business Project is a research & development program initiated by the African Circular Business Alliance with the core purpose to build valuable circular market data and strategic guidelines for a sustainable-profitable circular economy in Africa. The project will span 11 African countries and cover over 10 business industries/sectors.

What the Representation Entails
As a Country Representative, you will be required to:

  • Assist HQ in the preparation and implementation of program plans in the country on an ad-hoc basis
  • Expand networks and maintain relationships with industry professionals in the country
  • Willingness to often travel to the project site when required (NB: travel and accommodation fees will be covered by the organization)
  • Have a slack account as the role requires working closely with regional teammates to fulfil the duties of the position

Country Representative Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • Preferred to have experience as a Country Representative or equivalent role in businesses or NGOs working on environmental science, climate change, circular economy or green technology (optional)
  • Strong enthusiasm about environmental science, climate change, circular economy or green technology
  • Understanding of legislative and regulatory processes related to environmental management and climate change
  • Demonstrable leadership, organizational, and managerial skills
  • Ability to think strategically, conceptualize new ideas, digest and analyze complex information and present a coherent work or implementation plan
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Excellent writing, communication, representation and facilitation skills
  • Possess professional attitude, diligence and cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to work independently as well as work in a team
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently
  • Proven skills in networking and relationship building
  • Strong analytical and information-gathering skills
  • Strong administrative skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel to the project site when required
